Start the day off at Hinkler Hall of Aviation - Bundaberg’s own museum honouring pioneer, Bert Hinkler. The Hinkler Hall of Aviation pays tribute to Bert Hinkler as a pioneer of flight and as a person who was significant in the advancement of aviation during the early 20th century. Move on to a fascinating look back through time as you explore Bert Hinkler's Southampton, England, home - 'Mon Repos', which was relocated to Bundaberg in 1983. The house stands in the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens overlooking the site where Bert Hinkler landed on 27th of February, 1928, following his record-shattering solo flight from England to Australia.
Finish the day off with a long lunch on the deck of what-was an old miner's cottage that has now been fully restored and houses the award-winning Water Street Kitchen.
