About Dr Danette Wright
- Clinical Network Director of Surgery, Western Sydney Local Health District; Head of Department General Surgery/Staff Specialist at Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospitals, Western Sydney Local Health District
Dr Danette Wright is a general and colorectal surgeon with subspecialty interests in intestinal failure, inflammatory bowel disease and complex abdominal wall construction. She completed general surgical training and CSSANZ Colorectal Fellowship in Australia and further post-fellowship training in Complex Colorectal Surgery (Intestinal Failure and Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction in the United Kingdom.
Danette is the Head of Department of General Surgery at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital and is an Executive member of the NSW Committee of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. She has an interest in surgical quality and safety and sits on the CEC Serious Incident Review Committee and has other surgical specialty committee roles in the CEC. In her spare time, Danette is a medieval history enthusiast.
