Dr Stephen Hayes

Dr Stephen Hayes has been a regionally-practicing General Surgeon with a career spanning over 45 years.
Stephen undertook the majority of his medical training in Sydney prior to further training in the UK, before returning to obtain his FRACS in 1987. He then commenced a General Surgery appointment at Griffith Base Hospital where he remained before moving to Orange in 2003. One of the highlights of his time in Griffith was working under Dr John Binks – one of the founders of the PSA.
Stephen had a very busy practice in Orange, operating out of Orange Health Service and Dudley Hospital as well as Parkes and Forbes. He has maintained a keen interest in Breast Surgery with professional affiliations with Breast Screen and Surgery for Breast Cancer.
Having recently retired, Stephen now enjoys language studies, travel Men’s Shed, cycling, swimming and his grandchildren. He is married to Anne where they plan to slow life down a little and smell the roses.
